On the other side of the stairs from the gate, you'll find a switch. Once down there, you'll encounter a locked gate, though it's easy enough to open. With these in hand, backtrack to the hallway and seek out the stairs that lead to the floor below. This item, the Pliers, should be acquired, to diversify your arsenal. The bathroom where we broke the window also has an important item in one of the lockers. In the first room on your left, you can find some seldom-needed items, including a Beer Can and Beer Bottle, by examining some of the furniture. With the enemies defeated, you can do some exploration. Their coming out of the room will also open the nearby door, so you can gain access to the room more easily. When the enemies come to look for you and then turn back, you can stealth kill them one by one. Otherwise, after breaking the window, immediately make way for the nearby shadows. A Shard of Glass will fall from the window if you want it. The only way to break in initially is to break the window on the far end, though this will alert those within of your presence. Head down the pathway - there will be a few guys in the room to your right. Jump out of the window in the bathroom - this will bring you to another pathway. Explore the wooden cabinet on the left for another Pen (if you happened to expend it on your last stealth kill), and then proceed into the bathroom. Head through the door into the vacant room. Now, we must explore the lone room on the left. This takes care of the rooms on the right. You can also find Pain Meds on the nightstand in the room, in case you're in any way injured. Then, search the dresser for a Beer Can (if you want it). Sneak up on the mechanic and stealth kill him, grabbing the Mallet he drops. Then, carefully enter the adjoining room. First, head to the wooden cabinet on the right and grab the Pen from within. Concentrate first on the right side, heading into the door furthest from the end of the corridor. Otherwise, head to the corridor on the second floor with doors on both sides. The door to your left (and the other door leading into the same room) should be ignored, since there's nothing of interest within, other than a good place to hide if you happen to be seen. With your back facing the stairs, head left, and then left again. Head up the stairs from the lobby to the second floor. He's hard to sneak up on, but you should be able to take him without much of an issue. With the Baseball Bat in hand, you can then circle around and take out the guy in the lobby. You can also find a Beer Bottle and Beer Can in nearby lockers and chests as well, but naturally, they won't be very useful as anything more than distractions. A Baseball Bat will then be surrendered for your use. A specialty kill can be executed here, where Daniel will use the nearby phone to bludgeon the man to death. Jump over the counter and slowly, quietly approach the man on the phone.
You won't be armed initially, but that's okay. The proprietor of the establishment will tell you to stay put while he goes and uses the phone obviously, you'll want to pursue him anyway. After the initial cutscene, you'll gain control of Daniel Lamb.
